Gabrielle Sullivan
Gabrielle has been a manager of performing arts independent artists, projects and companies working primarily in the areas of contemporary music and dance for the past twenty years. She brings a range of qualifications and experience to the management of performing arts organisations, companies and projects with extensive experience in all aspects of management and the management of local, regional, national and international projects.
Gabrielle commenced her career in arts management as Administrator for Still Moves Dance Laboratory (1988). Her professional career includes grants administration for the Western Australian Department of Culture and the Arts (1988-89), Marketing Director for West Australian Ballet (1989-1992), and General Manager, Buzz Dance Theatre (formerly 2 Dance Plus) (1994-1996).
As a freelance arts manager, working on a contract basis since 1997, Gabrielle’s engagements have included Project Manager for the Nova Ensemble and pi (1998-2006), Acting Executive Officer with Ausdance WA and subsequently Communications Manager (2001-2005), during which time she established and managed STRUT dance with Sue Peacock (2001-2004), and more. Gabrielle’s recent engagements include Business and Development Manager for Tura New Music (2007-current), and Performance Program Manager at PICA (2008-2009).
In 2001, Gabrielle was appointed to the Board of Management of STEPS Youth Dance Company and was appointed Chairman of the Board in 2004.
Gabrielle is an English Honours graduate of The University of Western Australia and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Arts Management from the University of Adelaide.
