Holly Boyton - Costume Designer
I originate from Glastonbury, Somerset, England and have had been surrounded by music festivals and the arts since an early age. I studied fashion design in Surrey, London, which developed and amalgamated concepts with illustration and construction. Research became an integral part to my work, allowing me to experiment with materials, garment structure, and push the boundaries of costume as art. I feel that through diverse forms of entertainment, I can adapt, evolve and learn. Contribution, enhancement and learning for all, are important factors for me.
When I moved to Perth, in 2000, I wanted to further a career in the arts and studied costume at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Works I have been involved with, include theatre shows such as ‘Skylab’, at Barking Gecko, ‘The York Crucifixion’, at The Rechabites Hall, and art finishing for the film ‘Blood in the Sand’. I was the costume designer and constructionist for contemporary dances; ‘Kohl’ and ‘Beauty Spot’, choreographed by Paea Leach and ‘Preparing to be Beautiful,’ choreographed by Alice Lee Holland. Most recently I have worked on ‘Depth Charge’, for Buzz dance company and series 2 of Trapped, ‘Castaway’, a children’s TV show, produced by Bruce Best.
