Tyrone Robinson - Assistant Choreographer
After giving up in modeling, karate and gymnastics Tyrone decided to join a dance school. The first proper dance school he attended was TPC (The Performance Company) where he performed for 5 years.
Tyrone attended Hampton Senior High School, one of the few high schools in the Western Australia that has a Specialist Dance Program under G.A.T.E (Gifted And Talented Education). It was there where he first experienced contemporary dance under the teachings of Jessica Lane.
In 2007 Tyrone had his first STEPS experience in the ‘Boys Can Dance’ production of ‘dash’ Tyrone has also performed in STEPS 2007 FREERANGE workshop ‘Even In July’, 2008 main-house show ‘nospace’, 2008 FREERANGE workshop, and the most recent 2009 main-house performance of ‘moonwebbs & scorched thongs’.
Tyrone completed the part time Certificate 2 course at WAAPA (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts) while studying year 11 at high school. He has just completed his first year in the Bachelor of Arts in Dance at WAAPA.
STEPS is delighted to reward Tyrone’s commitment to dance and the company by offering him this Assistant Choreographer opportunity.
